From CC Hockey |
So while I was back for Thanksgiving I finally got a chance to stop into Tigers on Tejon to look for a jersey. While there still aren't any jerseys for sale for some bizarre reason, I did get to see all the other Tigers merch. Coming from one of the top 3 merchandise selling teams in the country (GO BIG RED) I'm used to anything you can possibly imagine with a logo on it. While Tigers on Tejon certaintly can't match 3 full levels of merch like the Nebraska Bookstore, it does have a great supply of the true yellow and gold, more than I expected. Shot glasses, mugs, t-shirts, sweat pants etc is all there.

I got a chance to talk with Matt the store manager so just so happens to be a 2008 graduate of, guess where?! The University of Nebraska! Very nice guy who has only been in the Springs for a few months so be nice :) He offered to mail me a jersey down here in Durango when they come into the store, any day now, which I thought was pretty cool. I have not had an luck finding a jersey this season, someone needs to smack the vendor upside the head! Anyway, I know dozens of people a day (from all over the country) are searching for Tigers on Tejon and are landing on my blog, so I figured I would let you all know that it's awesome and totally worth stopping by. I tossed the map on the bottom again in case you are wondering where it's at. As for a website, theirs is the CC Bookstore's site, which is in need of some work. So if you are near the CC campus on North Tejon this week, be sure to stop into Tigers on Tejon and say hey to Matt!

Getting back into my routine has been a little harder than expected. Working from 7AM-6PM isn't all that bad unless you were out until 2am in Colorado Springs 4 nights last week...oops! I finally got my pics all uploaded and finally got my first contributor to the blog photo galleries! Big thanks to Missy for sending me some sweet ice-level shots, most of which feature Bachman doing his thing. I've tossed her Colgate pics in with mine, her's are ice level, I'm up in the corner :) She also sent me some North Dakota and DU(d) pics and I'll toss those in the pics section with an MJ tag. I'm also going back and metatagging all my pics which means they should show up in google searches now, and that also means that if a photogallery link doesn't work it's being updated, so hang in there!
Below the slideshow resides this week's polls. The Tigers remained in the top 6 despite their less-than-stellar weekend. They got a lotta respect so they better show it coming up!
I've noticed that Tigers on Tejon is still a radically popular search and I will be posting a few pics and a review shortly so look for that tomorrow!

I was particularly excited about this when I read the article since I have had trouble finding CC merch close to where I live. Tigers on Tejon is a new extension of the "hidden" CC bookstore on campus. The store is located on N. Tejon technically off campus but in a CC owned building at 830 N. Tejon St. It provides us south-siders with an alternative to driving all the way up to the Chapel Hills Mall for CC stuff (although players bench is now open on S. Tejon and Red Mountain has a small CC stash) or an online retailer where most of mine has come from. It should help with visibility in the communtiy as well, especially since CC has often been labeled as having the worst community-campus relationship in the country, hence the reason why a lot of people don't even know where it is (even locals!). I haven't made it over to the store yet but I will soon (I'm looking for a black and throwback jersey on sale) and I'll give a fill review when I do. For now, check out the newspaper article or pay a visit yourself!
